AWIB-ISAW: The Temple of the Birth of Isis at Dendera (II)
The standing Iseum or Birth of Isis Temple at Dendera, located directly behind the main Temple to Hathor, was built on a surviving Ptolemaic structure but was decorated under Augustus. This relief from inside the Iseum shows the popular scene often referred to as the Dendera Light. The scene depicts a closed lotus blossom with a snake inside of it being held up by a djed pillar. by Kyera Giannini (2009)
