This is an albumen print made from an original negative by Francis Bedford, mounted on card. It was taken on 13th March 1862 during the Prince of Wales’s Tour of the East. The picture shows the colonnade of the Great Court of the Temple of Isis at Philae. Three Egyptians (one semi-naked) can be seen in the photograph. This picture is from Bedford’s small photographic folder. It was listed as No. 18 on page 8 of Bedford’s catalogue (see P 1761 for further details). "PHILAE. Mar 13/62" in lower left-hand corner.
