Retreating Boko Haram leaves mass of throat-slit corpses near Nigerian town

This isn’t my all-time favorite shot of Central Park from the Top of the Rock, but I did notice that there was a crane at the top of the building on the far left of the screen. I am by no means a New York expert, but I believe this is the crane that snapped during Sandy. I read some good news today that officials have secured the dangling crane.

This photo was taken in September, so this is what the scene looked like before Sandy came through.

DAMASAK, Nigeria (Reuters) – Soldiers from Niger and Chad who liberated the Nigerian town of Damasak from Boko Haram militants have discovered the bodies of at least 70 people, many with their throats slit, scattered under a bridge, a Reuters witness said.
